Friday Thoughts

Folks have been asking for more opportunities to engage professionally with the writing tutoring here at OU-C, and I am on the case!

To begin with, if you are bored and you wander here to our blog over break,
you may want to check out the IWCA blog at http://www.peercentered.org/.

I'm also looking at the ECWCA convention in Purdue this April . . .
I wonder what we could learn if we went and checked it out?

I think it should say wander?

And I highly recommend conferences as a way to learn and collaborate with others in your field. Bouncing ideas off each other is great, but limited. There are just a few of us.

At a conference we would have the opportunity to listen to/share with hundreds (if not thousands) of other writing tutors. How fantastic!

Lol! Keeping up on your skills over break!

Good to hear from you, Karalea, and I agree with you in terms of conferences. Perhaps this is a project you and I should work on?

Although, I still want to collaborate with you in regards to Squid and Tree . . . I can't wait to talk with you next week--hope you have had a well-deserved, restful break!

Conference project? Sure! What comes first?

I really think we all could benefit from the experience of collaboration with many other tutors.

Wonder what different types of tutoring have been discovered? (and spell check keeps tellingme tuteesis not a word)
